The title for this entry has nothing to do with the content, besides the hilarious picture I found to illustrate it. (Picture is from AFP)
I feel a little guilty for this, but I was rooting for Ghana instead of the United States during their Group E World Cup showdown. Really, I'd hoped both teams would move on to the Round of 16 (not a likely scenario, since they were in the same group as No. 2 ranked Czech Republic and eventual group winners Italy). But as I watched Angola, Togo, and Ivory Coast falter, the African in me felt obligated to cheer for the last African team left in the tournament.
Not that Ghana is a hard team to cheer for. They're a fun team to watch, and dangerous, too - see how they demolished the Czech Republic. Somewhere along the line, they picked up the nickname "The Brazil of Africa," but after giving their namesakes a good fight in the first half of their Round of 16 game (never mind Ronaldo's goal at the 5 minute mark), they eventually fell 3-0. Bummer.
There really isn't much of a point for this entry, other than to force me to write something. I've been neglecting this site for too long.
