Balanced Body University

Balanced Body University is a Pilates education provider and a strong sub brand of Balanced Body Inc., the world's leading Pilates equipment manufacturer. Challenged with creating a web presence that allows the brand to stand on its own, while also maintaining ties with the parent brand, I designed and built the first Balanced Body site with a CSS-based layout. Sumhair

Collaborating with IDDG, I developed semantic, valid XHTML and CSS templates from Photoshop mockups of a hair salon directory. This was a fun and challenging opportunity to work with some really talented people. View »

GraceAlive.net (2005 - 2006)

Screenshot from Grace Alive's website.

Personally dissatisfied with the old version of this site, and seeking to take advantage of the latest advances in web development, I embarked on a redesign in late 2004. The result: valid XHTML and CSS, improved visual design, and a custom content management system that utilizes PHP, mySQL, and the Prototype JavaScript framework. View »

As part of a team in a Marketing Management course, I co-developed a fictitious "Enhanced" service for Livejournal, a leading blogging service. To promote the new service, I developed this online advertisement, which would be featured on Livejournal's front page. View »

Agent Briana

Screenshot from 'Agent Briana' Flash presentation.

I created the Agent Briana promotional Flash presentation for an event put on by Grace Alive!. Since the movie was intended to be streamed off of a laptop to a projection system, the file size is rather large and not optimized for online presentation. After the movie has loaded, click the blue button in the lower lefthand corner to start the presentation. View » (4MB)

I developed this companion site for Is Capitalism Good for the Poor?, a curriculum created by the Foundation for Teaching Economics, using standards-compliant XHTML and CSS. View »

BrokenAllegiance.net

Screenshot from BrokenAllegiance.net.

I was selected to redesign the website for Broken Allegiance, an independent Star Wars "fan" film, in anticipation of production on a sequel. I enjoyed the opportunity and challenge in combining a "high-tech" look with an XHTML/CSS-based layout. Although I did not design the Flash animations throughout the site, I did incorporate them with the Flash Satay method to ensure standards-compliant markup. View »

FTE.org

I initiated a complete redesign of the web presence for the Foundation for Teaching Economics, a non-profit trust dedicated to economic education. By switching from non-standard markup to XHTML 1.0 Strict and CSS, the site averaged a 50% reduction in page weight, including a 75% reduction on the homepage. Other improvements included streamlined navigation and incorporation of usability best practices. View »

Sacramento County District Attorney's Office

Screenshot from www.da.saccounty.net.

As a web developer for Ciber, Inc., I was assigned to develop the web presence for the Sacramento County District Attorney's Office from a requirements document to fully-deployed site. After the initial launch, I made further modifications to ensure compliance with Section 508 accessibility requirements. The site has changed slightly since my tenure with Ciber ended in 2002, but it is still representative of my original work. View »
